Instead of bars and hotels found in many modern malls today, we can obligate malls to accommodate Adfec entertainment spots ... read more From a small village in Africa to New York city and Los Angeles, I survived trials and tribulations that claimed many lives. I have seen it all, done it all, survived it all. Still, My caring heart and mind is more important than my survival. I was a happy child with very little luxuries in my small village. In search for happiness, I have tried many things and strayed on cigarette, marijuana, Alcohol, Cocaine, crack and other drugs. Availability, through temptations, is partly to be blamed but resisting imposed culture based on lies contributed to my problems ... read more March 20, 2010 Dear Mr. President and whom it may concern, The rising trend of drugs and alcohol related problems should be a concern to every caring heart and mind. Join us on Facebook WELCOME: ADFEC is a Movement to help those who want to CONTROL or ABSTAIN from drugs and alcohol related problems. We believe the children and millions of weaker adults deserve entertainment without temptations. Our mission is to provide alternative options to the present day nightlife. Not all of us are necessarily against drugs or Alcohol but we believe society is paying an unfair price we can help alleviate by simply providing alternative option. Adfec is an acronym for Alcohol and Drug Free Entertainment Club -- We plan to establish Adfec Zones (entertainment venues) in all major cities and Adfec spots in smaller towns. By having such concentrated Adfec zones dominated by night clubs and other forms of entertainment should immensely reduce the dangers of drugs and alcohol. An Adfec environment may irritate the worse of human beings but people go to nightclubs for different reasons. It is not always due to the wide variety of alcohol. Some of us go for the well calibrated loud speakers, that special DJ, business, meet that “special” someone, see a favorite artist, simple social networking, dancing, etc. Alcohol is the least important and most dangerous commodity in the nightclub. Taking it away should draw people and business to unprecedented levels. Beside saving lives and Trillions of dollars, there is a huge market for Adfec. We invite you to join our movement/club to help make a difference. According to a reputable website www.camh.net “About 6,700 Canadians die each year as a result of drinking alcohol—due to car crashes, other accidents, suicides and murders, and health problems related to alcohol use.” Also According to www.naplesnews.com: “The annual adverse economic impact of underage drinking in the Sunshine State is $3 billion.” If Florida by itself is crumbling 3 billions annually, can you imagine the total cost of the whole of U.S or the world, including adults? The problem is beyond U.S and Canada and so is our movement. Drugs and Alcohol cost us trillions of dollars, millions of lives, millions of disables, etc. Please read the following article that inspired us and ask yourself what you can do to save yourself tax dollars and/or save lives across the world. These writings are personal opinions and not necessarilly endorsed by Adfec ADFEC –Movement for Sober Entertainment By Jigster, An African Philosopher ADFEC: Alcohol and Drug Free Entertainment Club is a movement to promote sober entertainment by providing alternative options. The problems drugs and alcohol posed are troubling but more worrisome to me is our approach to tackle those problems. Today, I won't waste time to elaborate on our differences. Instead, I am proposing a simple measure to confront a common problem. We all have been direct or indirect victims of drugs and alcohol. Trillions of tax payers dollars are literally wasted on drugs and alcohol related problems. Beyond the financial toll, people get sick, maim, and die through drugs and alcohol. I firmly believe that human beings are inherently naive but naturally good. Secondly, we are all born with a tabularasa mind. So with the right teaching and ideal options, we should not face the level of problems drugs and alcohol stand. According to www.naplesnews.com: “The annual adverse economic impact of underage drinking in the Sunshine State is $3 billion.” If Florida by itself is crumbling 3 billions annually, can you imagine the total cost of the whole of U.S or the world, including adults? . According to a reputable website www.camh.net “About 6,700 Canadians die each year as a result of drinking alcohol—due to car crashes, other accidents, suicides and murders, and health problems related to alcohol use.” Information may not be enough for some of us. Punishment is often too late and hardly works. So action oriented alternative options must be smartly employed to prevent and/or ameliorate the challenges. Since music has been blamed as a leading cause to drugs and alcohol related problems – it is naturally wise to utilize music to help contain the problem. We must establish Adfec Zones in all major cities. By having such concentrated zones dominated by night clubs and other forms of entertainment should immensely reduce the dangers of drugs and alcohol. This is not about eliminating drugs and alcohol or fighting traditional nightclubs. Instead, it is about containing drugs and alcohol by providing alternative forms of entertainment. I do not think it is fair to blame nightclubs or music for the long list of problems but there is no question that the present forms of nightclubs contribute to the problems in question. More importantly, I think our inaction to provide alternative forms of entertainment is much worse than the present day nightclubs. We owe it to the children, the struggling weak, and the Godly music lovers. Regardless of whether you and I are drunkards, it is wiser for our children not to repeat our mistakes. We must not be too naive to trust teenagers and people in general know when and how much to drink. If at eighteen, I am allowed to go to alcoholic nightclubs but need to be at least twenty one to buy alcohol in most states in the U.S. I believe such torturing temptations are cruel, hypocritical or dumb at least. We owe Adfec zones to the children. Adfec zones can also help the struggling weak among adults. Someone who is in and out of treatments like Alcoholics Anonymous still deserve night-life entertainment without the temptations. I believe Adfec Zones can help such people to become stronger and better contributors. The Godly music lovers also deserve something better than traditional nightclubs. People go to nightclubs for different reasons. If we claim wrong association is dangerous then we must admit good association can be helpful. Adfec will promote better crowd or better association. Beside containing drugs and alcohol related problems, Adfec Zones can produce marvelous spin-offs. The kind of crowd Adfec Zones will draw will be more ideal for advertisement for many products and services. Artists will respond to such crowd with more positive music. And indeed there are some other benefits that I can see but do not want to mention at the moment. What precisely do I want from Governments and the people? Support, support, support. I want governments to help establish concentrated Adfec zones in every city with more than one million people. Their shortcomings in planning will make it little costlier but less costly and more productive than their present programs. Mainly governments have the power to provide and/or buy blocks of land to establish these concentrated zones. There should be nightclubs, restaurants, and other forms of entertainment in such zones. Anything with alcohol or drugs in such zones should be treated as higher offence like selling drugs in a school zone. Even though I firmly believe these Adfec centers/zones will have enough market to compete like other businesses, it is important to understand that failure is not an option for such a marvelous idea. So I want governments to help in providing security, special tax breaks, employment subsidies, loan provisions, etc. These suggestions are mainly to encourage investors and secure success from the beginning. Likewise, I expect support from the people. Help establish Adfec Zones by donating time and/or money. Write to your political leaders to support action oriented preventions like Adfec. Once there are Adfec spots and Adfec zones, please support them at least once a week. Creating Adfec zones is not very different from purchasing land for a football stadium, building a needed bridge for humans or “tortoise”, a prison, a shopping mall, a treatment center for drug addicts etc. Once billionaires and Governments understand the possible benefits, they should not have no problem to fund Adfec zones. Eventually, these ADFEC zones will serve society in creating jobs, saving lives, redonating, paying taxes, reducing obesity, etc. Success in big cities will provide the necessary courage to have island Adfec spots in smaller towns. There are countless benefits to have them in concentrated zones and to have Adfec 'nightclubs' as the dominating form of entertainment. Music is a Godly thing and night-life is here to stay. We have the option to shape the future positively without unnecessary fights and cowardly choices. You may not personally need Adfec but the world needs Adfec. Imagine the number of lives we can save and ask yourself how you can contribute. I repeat, Imagine the number of lives we can save and ask yourself how you can contribute . I urge you to volunteer at least 8 hours of your time and/or a day's wage to help establish Adfec. Thank you for listening and keep visiting www.Adfec.info. | We have seen political parties celebrating with tons of Alcohol. We have seen president Barrack Obama claiming “change” but hosting “a beer summit” in front of millions of children even though claiming 'he would not smoke in front of his children'. Still, he is brave enough to sign “anti-smoking bill”, when can he and/or other politicians understand that it doesn't matter if we all drink alcohol, we still owe the children a plan better than the cruel temptations in the U.S? | ||
